About AYA

One harvest.
One farm.
One hand.

AYA is a family-owned house sourcing single-origin botanical powders direct from the farmers who tend them. No blends. No commodities. No shortcuts.

The name behind the brand.

AYA means a sign — in Arabic, a verse of the Quran, a mark of meaning. We chose it because every powder we carry is a mark of a specific place, a specific season, a specific pair of hands. Nothing here is arbitrary.

We don't manufacture. We source. We refuse the anonymous supply chain of industrial tea and spice. Every pouch is traced to a specific farm, a specific season. When the year shifts, so does the cup — and that is the point.

Our origins.

Five countries. Ten botanicals. Each with its own history, altitude, and character.

Japan
Uji · Kyoto · Shizuoka · Hokkaido
Matcha, Hojicha, Genmaicha, Kinako. The country where stone-milling was perfected. We source from farms that have been grinding tea for generations — not processors.
Thailand
Chiang Mai
Butterfly Pea. Hand-picked at dawn from the northern highlands, sun-dried whole, stone-milled into a pH-reactive indigo.
Philippines
Bohol
Ube. The beloved purple yam of Filipino culture, slow-dried and stone-milled into a vivid violet powder.
Sri Lanka
Galle
Activated Charcoal. Food-grade coconut-shell charcoal from the southern coast, finely milled into a matte obsidian powder.
India
Tamil Nadu · Rajasthan · Madhya Pradesh
Moringa, Ashwagandha, Shatavari. Three Ayurvedic plants from three different ecosystems — one leaf, one root, one wild creeper. Each with a 2,000-year track record of use.

How it's made.

Single-origin

Every powder is traced to one farm, one harvest. No blending across regions. The terroir stays pure — you taste a specific place, a specific season.

Hand-picked

Leaves and flowers are harvested by the people who grew them — not machines. Machine picking tears indiscriminately. Hand picking selects at the right stage of the leaf's life.

Stone-milled

Granite millstones turn slowly. No heat-generating industrial grinders that flatten the aroma. The powder keeps its life, its color, its depth.

Plastic-free

Our pouches are metallized kraft — recyclable, oxygen-barrier, no petroleum plastic. The packaging protects what's inside. It also makes the economics honest: good material, fair cost, nothing wasted on a box.

Direct trade

We pay our growers directly, fairly, without middlemen. Long-term relationships, not commodity purchases.

Small batches

We don't pre-stock. Each batch is milled and packed fresh when needed. Shelf life is preserved by oxygen-barrier packaging, not by additives.
